Week 6: Practical skills for new parents, including swaddling, bathing, nappy changing, and slings.

Our first-time parents antenatal courses are made-up of interactive and dynamic midwife-led classes. These sessions provide honest, evidence-based, and realistic information, with course content equally split between labour and birth, and the early weeks with your new baby. This ensures that each of our couples feel confident in making informed choices. There is plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion during each course, and a fantastic opportunity to hear some first hand experiences from previous couples returning to tell their own birth-story.

Our sessions are limited to eight couples, and are held in a private space in The Half Moon Pub, maintaining an intimate and relaxed atmosphere where lasting friendships are formed. We facilitate the creation of WhatsApp groups, and encourage regular meet-ups during and after the course, all of which helps to develop that all-important early support network.

Each couple will recieve our tailor made 60 page handbook. It supports all the information you discuss in the course, and signposts you to reliable sourcs of information to expand your knowledge in any particular topic. The handbook offers a quick look guide to steer you through your birth, a detailed view of what to expect for the first 3 months, and our midwife tips about the practical baby skills and feeding.

You will also recieve unlimited email support from midwife Vicky and the Team.

"I found Vicky extremely knowledgeable and brilliant at putting everyone at ease. She's really helped me become a confident mother-to-be. I shall greatly miss her!" Milou and Mash

Rebecca grew up in the Wiltshire countryside but has now settled down in South London. Rebecca loves surrounding herself with her friends and family, if she isn’t found ‘brunching’ in Brixton, or sipping espresso martinis on Lordship Lane, she is working as a midwife on a busy birthing unit.

Rebecca has a true passion for midwifery. Her bubbly and outgoing personality means she builds a rapport easily with everyone she meets, and this reflects in her approach to midwifery care, where she strives to bring positivity to every single birth. Rebecca has a special interest in promoting a Positive Birth experience through her teaching, and promoting normality and personalised care for all families, no matter whether they are experiencing a straight forward, or a more complex pregnancy.
