For ultimate birth preparation why not book out add on Hypnobirthing Course that runs in the 2 weeks leading up to the Antenatal Class and 2 weeks after.

Hypnobirthing offers excellent preparation for expectant parents to better understand what your body does through the labour process. Through learning about self-hypnosis techniques you will learn what you can do to encourage a strong mind-body bond that will help you cope better and allow your body to work effectively. A Hypnobirthing course also offers a Birth Partner to get hand on with the birth experience, and really feel like they have a effective role in supporting their partner.

Week 3: Different types of hospital birth including Caesarean, and the birth partner's role. Birth Stories from two previous couples.

Week 4: Baby Feeding. Breastfeeding? Bottle Feeding? Whatever is right for you.

Week 5: What to expect from the first 3 months of being new parents and exploring newborn behaviour.

Week 6: Practical skills for new parents, including swaddling, bathing, nappy changing, and slings.

Our first-time parents antenatal courses are made-up of interactive and dynamic midwife-led classes. These sessions provide honest, evidence-based, and realistic information, with course content equally split between labour and birth, and the early weeks with your new baby. This ensures that each of our couples feel confident in making informed choices. There is plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion during each course, and a fantastic opportunity to hear some first hand experiences from previous couples returning to tell their own birth-story.

Our sessions are limited to eight couples, and are held in a private space above Brown and Green Cafe, maintaining an intimate and relaxed atmosphere where lasting friendships are formed. We facilitate the creation of WhatsApp groups, and encourage regular meet-ups during and after the course, all of which helps to develop that all-important early support network.

The course includes our tailor made handbooks, “The Path to Birth,” and “The Fourth Trimester,” as well as unlimited email support from midwife Vicky and the Team.

If you have any questions about the course or have any special requests please contact us

These classes are the best thing we’ve done as we prepare for having our first baby. We didn’t know what to expect but it’s really relaxed and good fun while giving you all the info you need to know in a non scary way!
All in all we are so glad we did The Group and I’m not sure what we’d be doing without it! We’ve made a load of friends, feel like we actually have a clue about childbirth and the first few months of parenthood now, and have connections for other activities for once the baby’s born.

Vicky (founder of The Group) was born and bred in South London and never wants to leave. Her main passion is being a midwife, and she loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. One of her own, most cherished stories, is when she helped her sister to birth her wonderful daughter, Penelope. Vicky had her daughter Pia in 2017, and is juggling mummy life with running The Group, and working as a community midwife in Beckenham. She recently moved from Crystal Palace to a family home in West Wickham, which she hopes to fill with more little people! Vicky certainly has the Colombian spirit from her mother, always offering infectious energy and a warm welcome.
